This is one really cool little bike! Had a chance to check it out the other night. Jason and Mario put this together, you guys can chime in with details if you like.
Jason told me the story of picking up this 1951 WL at a swap. It was converted into a motor to power a saw way back when and has been sitting around like this for 28 years or something before Jason grabbed it as is. It's on a mower so he can move it around for now. After spending a lot of time just staring at it, and it was cold out, I had to have a 45, that's how it started for me. Here's a video that Jason took quite some time ago. Hand starting the motor. This motor is going to be the heart of a very special bike once Jason gets around to it.
After seeing Jason's new Knuck I'm wishing for some progress on my own build. Shot Yas at HWZN BROSS a quick email. He sent me this for inspiration. I love the 45s that come out of HWZN BROSS. Check out the blog, Yas mentioned that he'll be posting some really cool 45 stuff soon. Thanks Yas!
This is a big deal for me, heavy stuff, kicked the 1941 Knucklehead, it's easier than my Ironhead. I'm glad Jason ended up with this bike, couldn't be happier, it's almost like I got it myself . . . well not really, but you know what I mean, thanks Jason! Awesome addition.
Jason always seems to be in the right place at the right time when it comes to getting bikes and parts. Everyone could be looking at a wall of parts and for some reason Jason will see things that we don't. Bikes seem to find him. Well it happened again this weekend while I was in New York, I had a feeling that it would. Jason and I exchanged a bunch of texts before I left on Friday about this bike. Here are some pics of his latest addition to the family and details in his words - "41 el knucklehead after 12 years of storage , got it from torontos beaches from a 70 year old gentelman, god wanted me to have it, got it running with damon in less than an hour". Amazing! I have yet to see this in person. Planning to drop by soon. Jason, check it out too, this is post #812 on the blog, add em up, it was meant to be.
Took a crazy hectic bus tour from Toronto to New York over the long weekend. Spent more time on the bus getting there and back. Crossing the border was insane. Anyway, the energy in New York is awesome. Didn't see too much but did enjoy my visit to Soho. Glad to be back home. . . need to catch up.
Al did a little clean up of his garage and shared a couple photos with me. Looks nice and neat. In the process he dug up this Bates P-pad and wicked book. He mentioned that he'd send along some more scans from it when he has a chance, he posted some of it on JJ some years ago. Thanks Al.
