Soon to be swap meet season in our neck of the woods. Not in a big rush but hope to score some parts for this guy here. Have a vision in my head and don't want to accumulate and pile of parts I'll end up not using. Let me know if you have anything you think I may need.
My ironhead and this keeps me going through the winter. Looking forward to making some progress in the spring and summer this year. Hope the motorcycle gods will be on my side.
Wasn't sure when I'd use my seat, it's a little wider than the 9X13s, so it might be just the right size for the WL. Thinking how to make the colors work, this is part of my therapy fun.
I wasn't sure what I thought at first about the chrome cam cover on my 48 WL, the cylinder head bolts are weathered chrome as well so there is a good contrast with the other parts of the motor. I'm liking the mix and contrast it brings now, gives it more dimension and interest to look at, at least it does for me.
Here's the last shot of the cam cover before I went and cleaned it up. Love the light patina on the motor but couldn't help myself to polish up the old chrome a little and have a look. will post photos later!
It's difficult to express to your wife how a 60+ year old piece of engineering can bring out an emotion of happiness in you by just sitting there, still, motionless. If you are here reading this, you understand : ).
