Tank and Motor

Nice to see things starting to take shape. I'm sure I'm going to change direction a few times but to have this mockup as a basis is fantastic. tanks_motors_1 tanks_motors_2 tanks_motors_3 tanks_motors_4 tanks_motors_5

In goes the motor

Another great site to see! Everything plug and play. Well almost, headlight just there for placement, will be moving it eventually. motor_in_1 bars_light_1

Wrong kickstand

We noticed we had the wrong stand on the frame just before the motor went in. Jason had a 45 one that we swapped before putting in the motor. wrong_kickstand_1

Still looking for 18's

I'm looking for 18's front and back for this project. Jason grabbed a really old pair he had for mockup. It was really cool to just walk around the shop and pick parts from Jason's stash so that we could keep things moving. These wheel tire setups look awesome and have given me a good idea of what I want. wheels_brakes_1 wheels_brakes_3 wheels_brakes_4 wheels_brakes_5

Frame meet springer

I'm fortunate to have found some really heavy parts for my build. My favorites are the frame and the springer. There have been many days that I've tripped out looking at these parts in my living room, wondering about them and how they actually found there way to me. Now they are finally going together! springer_bars_1 springer_bars_2 springer_bars_3

Old Bars for mockup

Jason and I both looked at these bars and were blown away. They've got a real nice vibe to them and have these funky old grips on them. Perfect for helping me envision what bars I'll choose later on. Look to be a variant of the Speedster bars. Thanks Jason. old_bars_1 old_bars_2 old_bars_3

Let the games begin

Today was a great day. Finally after months of collecting parts, Jason and I started to put together a mockup of my bike. I usually don't like to begin doing so without having all the parts, but Jason was kind enough to lend me some of his nice vintage parts to help me get things going so I can make some decisions. Here he is, doing a quick rebuild of the rockers so that I'm safe. I plan to ride this bike so safety will come first. spring_rebuild_1 spring_rebuild_2

Inspiration - Matt Olsen 52 WR

I think everyone who is into 45's has seen this Matt Olsen 1952 WR that he did for his friend Dave. Matt made a post on his blog this morning with a link to Joseph Emmett Mielke Photography (www.bigjoephoto.com). There are 162 beautiful photos of this bike posted which you can zoom into original file sizes. I shamefully screen capped 4 photos and posted here. I couldn't control myself. Sorry Joe, if you see this post and want me to remove please let me know. Matt's blog is one of my favorites, he posts about all the work he does and about his father's work at Carl's Cycle Supply. It's amazing stuff. I'm pretty much screwed now, I'll be looking at these pics all day and probably all the time for a long time! matt_wr_1 matt_wr_2 matt_wr_3 matt_wr_4
